Introducing Jessica

My name is Jessica Acheson. I am 26 years old and I am an Irish three day event rider, currently based in Wiltshire, UK.

Ever since I can remember horses have always been a passion of mine. When I was younger I was obsessed with them, however coming from a non-horsey family I did not have my own pony until I was 13. After many years of begging and riding other peoples ponies my parents gave in, thinking that maybe the responsibility of my own may make the 'phase' finish. Unfortunatly for them it made it stronger and 13 years later here I am riding horses professionally and still as obsessd as I always was.

After leaving Stonar School at the age of 18 with 3 A-levels in Psychology, P.E. and Geography as well as my BHSAI I attended Edinburgh University but after one year decided that competing horses was what I wanted to do. Having worked part time in professional yards in England I decided that I would leave home completely in 2010 and see if I was cut out for the eventing world by relocating to Northern Ireland to work for The Smith Brothers.

I spent two years in Ireland and during this time I won the CNC** league with my mare Ottentik Nobless, the six year old league on Bridgehousestud River Wild and was selected to represent Ireland at the Young Horse World Championships at Le Lion D'angers in 2012.

After two brilliant and successful years in Ireland it was time to come home and set up by myself. 2013 brought highs and lows with plenty of learning curves and it was very much a 'growing' time. We expanded the facilities and the yard as well as purchasing some smart young horses for the future.

I am so excited for the future and have a brilliant string of horses coming through for the highest levels of competition. Senior teams and results at four star level are my aim, but I dont mind taking my time to get there, so when I do we dont just make up the numbers!

I am kindly supported and sponsored by Horse First Supplements, Gatehouse Hats, Pure Feeds and Ameliorate. Many thanks to them because I really couldnt do it without them.
